FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy will meet in Berlin on Jan. 9, Sarkozy's office announced Monday, as euro-zone leaders continue efforts to get a grip on the region's long-running debt crisis. Merkel and Sarkozy will hold a working lunch centered on preparing for upcoming meetings, particularly a gathering of European Union leaders on Jan. 30, according to the statement.
