We all know that there is always two sides to a story, and this story is no different. We have been very bullish on shale plays and the companies working in the shale formation areas. So what’s the deal with the sudden doubt around shale plays? Are these assuptions valid? Well, [URL="http://blogs.forbes.com/christopherhelman/2011/06/27/new-york-times-is-all-hot-air-on-shale-gas/"]Christopher Helman[/URL] calls their bluff, and is a bullish about shale plays as we are.

The shale boom is happening all across the United State. However, as you probably could have guessed, Texas has become the hub for shale exploration and production. With both the Eagle Ford Shale and the Barnett Shale becoming hot commodities, Texas oil is back on the map in a big way.

By this point, I am sure that many of you have heard about the numerous shale plays that have been developed all across the United States. If you haven’t heard about the US shale boom yet, I would be quite surprised. Numerous energy companies have been buying up acreage all across the US and some companies are utilizing the resources better than others. One of the companies banking off their shale plays is RPC Inc. I must give them props to seeing the great potential in the shale plays, and making serious earnings from them.

There has been massive interest growing around the Marcellus Shale. Not only the Marcellus Shale, but shale natural gas in general. With everyone trying to get in on the boom, some of the most well known energy companies are no different.

I am sure by now you have all heard a little, if not a lot, about the shale opportunities across the U.S. If this approach to natural gas extraction is the “wave of the future” is won’t hurt to learn a little more!
