European stocks extend rally into sixth day

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European stock markets climbed in early trading Friday after posting gains in each of the last five sessions. Among shares on the move, French building materials firm Lafarge SA rose 3.2% after it swung to a profit and said it plans to cut its debt. Dutch satellite navigation equipment maker TomTom NV dropped 6.7% after it said earnings in 2011 will be largely unchanged from 2010. Among the main indexes, the U.K.'s FTSE 100 index rose 0.1% to 6,094.06, the French CAC 40 gained 0.35 to 4,165.90 and the German DAX 30 index rose 0.2% to 7,416.99.
