Metals, mining stocks drag on Canadian market

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Metals and mining stocks dragged on the Canadian market Thursday. The S&P/TSX Composite Index declined 36 points, or 0.3%, to 14,024, weighed down by the S&P/TSX Capped Diversified Metals and Mining Index , which fell 2.7%. Shares of Teck Resources Ltd. , Thompson Creek Metals Co. , Lundin Mining Corp. , Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. , and First Quantum Minerals Ltd. all saw losses of 2% or more in recent activity.
