Noble Energy, El Paso lead energy stocks higher

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Noble Energy rose 2% to lead energy stocks in the S&P 500 into positive territory on Thursday. El Paso Corp. moved up by 1.9% and First Solar Inc. rose 1%. Energy stocks in the S&P 500 rose 0.2%, on average, in early action. The overall S&P 500 rose about 0.1%.
