Gold settles at best in six weeks

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures rallied Thursday, settling at their best in six weeks as they ran higher with other commodities and also got some safe-haven flow from uncertainties surrounding the euro zone and Greece's bailout referendum. Gold for December delivery added $35.50, or 2.1%, to end at $1,765.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Traders digested news reports Greece's referendum is likely called off and an array of U.S. macroeconomic data, which came in mixed.
