TEL AVIV (MarketWatch) -- TomTom NV, the Amsterdam provider of in-car location and navigation products and services, reported third-quarter net income rose 53% on 10% lower revenue. And it estimated that the year's results would come in at the higher end of its estimates. Profit for the quarter reached 29 million euros, or €0.13 euro a share, from €19 million, or €0.09 euro a share, in the year-earlier quarter. Adjusted profit per share was €0.18 against €0.14. Revenue fell to €336 million from €375 million. For the year, the company estimates adjusted profit at €0.25 to €0.3 euro a share on revenue of €1.23 billion to €1.28 billion. A restructuring, begun in the third quarter, is refocusing TomTom on areas of strongest potential growth, including the automotive and the content-and-services divisions, Chief Executive Harold Goddijn said in a Monday statement. The move includes job cuts; TomTom's statement didn't specify how many.
