Court upholds stem-cell research funding: reports

BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- A federal judge on Wednesday upheld the Obama Administration's decision to restore federal funding for certain types of embryonic stem-cell research, according to reports. A U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., ruled that funds offered for such research through the National Institutes of Health do not violate federal law. Shares of three stem-cell research companies moved higher following the news, including Advanced Cell Technology , BioTime Inc. , and International Stem Cell Corp. .
